Photography Classes

Posted in Personal by Rami on the April 17th, 2005

Lately I’ve been more interested in photography but I just have too much going on to actually learn something new. Nawaf gave me his old NYIP lessons a while back but I still haven’t got the time to read them. I found out from Mark that Bayt Lothan has classes in photography. I called them up and it’s 60KD for the first level. The course is 20 hours long and spans over a month or so. Now I’m not sure if I should take the course or not. 60KD isn’t that bad if the course is good. Anyone who knows anything about the courses offered at Bayt Lothan and if they are any good? I really need to start learning and put my Sony V3 to use then maybe get a DSLR later on.

Photography classes are great but it is not because they teach you anything. Theory of the light and time can be taught in 1 hour. The classes mostly force you to go and take pictures and have people critque them so you learn how to take better pictures.

I think the courses are good because they will help you understand the camera and how it works better plus the classes will let you experience a variety of different shooting situations. with an instructure there you will be able to ask him any question u want plus if you have a certain effect you want to learn how to do he will be able to help you. then like nibaq said, with the help of other people looking at your work you will be able to understand what makes a good picture and what doesnt.
